Guatemala Mission Team Commissioned

Yorkminster commissioned its Guatemala Mission Team Sunday, June 21, before the team left for Dulles Airport.

The team will spend a week exploring ways to partner with CEDEPCA, an international educational non-profit based in Guatemala City that works to transform lives.

They took with them five suitcases filled with school supplies for the children of Guatemala and yarn for CEDEPCA’s Prayer Shawl Ministry.

Yorkminster’s congregation donated $8,000 to purchase 160 water filters. Each filter will provide a family with clean water for up to two years. The team plans to personally deliver 75 of the filters.

Plans for the week include learning, reflection, prayers and exploring opportunities for partnership. Pastor Laura Crihfield said the team was going not to transform Guatemala but to be transformed by Guatemala.

Remember to support the team with your prayers.
