Chancel Choir

Meets Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the choir room

The Chancel Choir sings regular anthems, introits and responses for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service. The choir performs a wide range of traditional and traditional-style compositions. Some are beautifully simple and can be learned in a practice or two, while others are months in the making, as they take on the likes of Rutter and Handel.

We work hard to make each piece as precise and meaningful as possible, to glorify God and to inspire the faith of all who hear.

The Chancel Choir is open to both youth and adults. No experience is necessary, and you can choose between a short-term or long-term commitment:

Children's Choir

Meets Wednesday evenings (during Wild Wednesdays) from 6:15 - 6:45 p.m. in Founders Hall

The Children's Choir performs every other month for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service and for special events and services. The Children's Choir is open to children in grades K-5.

Handbell Ringers

Yorkminster has an extensive church handbell program. Our ringers range from brand-new to highly experienced, with several who have played professionally.

Handbell Ringers of YPC are incorporated monthly into worship, as well as being heavily featured in our church's Christmas cantata, Christmas Eve and Easter services.

Cheerful Chimers

Children's handchime choir

Our children's handchime choir practices on Wednesday evenings, during Wild Wednesdays from 5:15 to 5:55 p.m. in the handbell room during the school year. They typically help in worship several times during the year. No musical experience is required—the children will be taught how to read music and make beautiful music as a team. It is a fun way to learn to ring!

Selah Flutes

Our flute choir is made up of volunteer players who present music periodically throughout the church year. Music ranges from styles taken from early Baroque to modern transcriptions.
