We had a tremendous four-day event with thousands of smiles created by 70 dozen cookies baked by Yorkminster members. We brought the bags to the men in their cells and they ate them with the 42 in our program! They couldn't believe that you would love them so much to bake all those cookies!
I believe we brought those men much closer to the Lord by planting the seeds and turning it over to the Holy Spirit!! Some of the comments at the graduation talked about coming in "Broken, missing God and lonely. They found "Forgiveness, compassion and love" then left with "The Holy Spirit, friendship and ability to walk through the fire!"
In Kairos we don't allow the inmates to thank us because we are tools of the Master Craftsman and nobody thanks tools! However, we do thank God for the tools He created! So I say , thank God for the cookie bakers!-

We were part of a group that brought 2900 dozen cookies t into Greenville Correctional Center. We started with 42 inmates for the 3.5 day program and graduated 36.
We also give a dozen cookies out to all 1000 other inmate.
