Bluebirds are back

Yorkminster’s Bluebird family has started the season with a tremendous effort!  We have six beautiful blue eggs in box 2. Hatch day should be right around the corner resulting in lots of mouths to feed.

There are six boxes on the trail. A team led by Dr. Deena Obrokta monitors the boxes weekly, collecting data for submission to the Virginia Bluebird Society.

The trail was established in 2022 and is named for the late Rev. Dr. Marc Mason. In its first three years, about 60 Bluebirds have fledged as well as 25 Carolina Chickadees.
