Yorkminster offers a Youth Ministry that is focused on faithful fun and faithful service.
What is faithful fun? It is having fun with people we care about in ways that celebrate the life God has given us. So we play GaGa and have lock-ins and go on amazing adventures that help us develop trust in God and trust in each other.

Youth Lock-in April 17-18!
Wild Wednesdays are a break from the pressures to "perform," and this fellowship is a launching pad for our mission efforts. Recently we have done a meal-packing event with "Rise Against Hunger," and we will be providing a meal for the homeless in Newport News. We are always looking for local projects to help people tend their homes in the community.
Our Youth Leader is Pastor "Mike" Burcher, who has over 30 years experience working with youth and young adults in Presbyterian camp ministry, and brings her gifts in helping others discern who God is calling them to be. She loves to hike, kayak, cave, sail, and to share her passion for the outdoors with others.
So are you ready for adventure? Contact Pastor Mike for more details!
We welcome Rebecca Walz as our Youth Assistant!
Hello, my name is Rebecca Walz and I am 24 years old. I grew up in a small town called Loganville, Georgia. Through middle and high school, I attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Georgia where I fell in love with God and grew my faith. I was very involved in the church, I played bells, my saxophone, sung in the choir and volunteered for anything and everything. After I graduated high school, I was going to college to receive my degree in Information Technology, but then God sent me in a different direction. The path God sent me on had me move to Virginia, meet my amazing husband Rusty, and start going to college for Christian Studies. When I am not at church or studying, I am playing with my dogs Indy and Bear…oh, and of course enjoying time with Rusty. I love to be outdoors, read, eat tacos and explore new things.
