Sunday School takes place at 11 a.m., following 9:45 worship. Children will learn about the Bible and how it applies to today with age-appropriate learning opportunities:
Sunday School for our littlest learners takes place in Room 7 on the main hall, where the children will take part in a short lesson where very basic faith ideas are introduced through stories, song, crafts and games.
Rotation Sunday School
Pre-K to 5th grade
Yorkminster uses a “rotation model,” which means that each Scripture Theme (such as a parable, or Bible hero or event) is retold/examined in three different ways over three different weeks. A benefit of this program is that the kids learn the scripture very well!
Another benefit is that the format is very hands-on and active. Rotations can include science, cooking, art, games, drama or video. Each Sunday, there is a Teacher and a Shepherd in each classroom.
There are three age groups:
4 years–1st grade
These children begin each week with their personal puzzle binders in their assigned classroom. An usher will be glad to show you the way to the Sunday School classrooms.
Bible Class - Our third and fourth graders are presented Bibles, then they spend 6 weeks learning how to use them: how to look up scripture, use maps, dictionaries etc.

Our programs depend on committed adults who give their time and care to the kids. Being a leader is fun and meaningful! The lessons are developed to be teacher-friendly as well as kid-friendly. Learn the different ways you can volunteer and be involved, or contact Pastor Mike
All of the adults who supervise children in our programs have background checks and child protection training. Yorkminster is committed to providing a safe environment for the children in our care.
