Adult Opportunities

There are a variety of ways you can become more connected within our church. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, contact our church office. Here are several adult offerings:

Prayer Fellowship

The Prayer Fellowship devotes time for praise, intercession, and prayer partnership. Meetings are the first Monday of every month from 10 a.m. until noon. Host homes are listed in the church bulletin. Come join us or use request cards in the pew racks to send your prayer requests.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Yorkminster has created this special ministry to bring love and care to those in our community who are going through difficult times. The making of a prayer shawl is a spiritual practice, which embodies our thoughts and prayers for the receiver. As we knit or crochet our shawls, we ask God's love to comfort those who will receive the shawl, and, when the shawl is completed, it is offered a final blessing before being given. Individuals that are interested in knitting or crocheting meet each Tuesday, except the second Tuesday of the month, at 9:30 a.m. in the parlor. All age groups are represented in our circle of knitters and everyone is welcome.

Functional Fitness Class

Mondays at and Thursdays at 9:00 a.m.

Do you think it is time to improve your physical shape, weight, balance, strength and overall condition? If yes, come join us for a workout on Monday and Thursday mornings, 9:00-10:15 am. It is never too late to start! People with a wide spectrum of abilities benefit from this workout led by our talented Susie McHoney. Susie has taught classes at Riverside Wellness Center for many years. It could help prevent health problems in the future by improving your physical shape now. Come to Covenant Hall with a work-out mat (chairs provided if preferred), water bottle and hand barbells (if you would like). Men and women are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes.
